About the Course
The Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification is internationally recognized and highly regarded. It is structured and examined by ACCA and offers you the opportunity to further your career options.
Whether you wish to start a career in finance, accounting, or gain recognition for the wealth of skills and experience you have already achieved or want accelerated progression to the ACCA Professional Scheme and a more senior position in accountancy, the CAT qualification will help you achieve your career objectives.
The CAT course is designed to equip you with all the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to fulfill an accounting role to technician level. It also provides a firm foundation of knowledge and the opportunity to fast track towards becoming a professional ACCA accountant.
On completion of the CAT course, you can move directly to Part 2 of the ACCA Professional course.

Entry Criteria
Entry is open. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age - there is no upper age limit. No formal academic qualifications are needed.
Overseas students must have English Language Level - IELTS 5.0 or equivalent standard.
Start Dates
Every Monday, except UK Bank Holidays.

Assessment
One external examination for each paper
Examinations
External examinations are held at ACCA Examination Centres in London, at UK Regional Centres, and at British Council offices worldwide. Examinations are in June and December. A maximum of 6 subjects can be taken per year.

Personal Studies: 10 hours per week on average
Tutor Support
Following registration, you will be allocated a UK-based tutor, who will be available by telephone, fax, and email to discuss your coursework and give advice and guidance on assignments and examination revision.

Important Information
ACCA Registration and Examination Fees
Our study fees exclude amounts payable to the professional body for student registration, exemptions and examination entries.
The following ACCA fees must be paid separately:
- Initial subscription (payable on registration) £52
- Annual Subscription £52
Examinations fees payable before each exam:
- Introductory Level: £30 per paper (total £60)
- Intermediate Level: £30 per paper (total £60)
- Advance Level: £35 per paper (total £175)
